This past week I had the opportunity along with fellow authors to meet with teenagers living in the Bud Bailey Apartment complex. We talked to the teens about our current books and answered their questions about writing, and how to become an author. The enthusiasm these youth had was contagious — they laughed and joked the whole evening.

Although only some of the teens I visited with were interested in writing, I hope to spread the message as I speak with youth that learning to write well isn't only for those who plan on writing as a future career. When we learn to write well we can influence others, keep a record of our own lives and increase employment possibilities in many different areas.

So . . . keep writing!
